A Garden Oasis in Manchester
The garden design for this midterrace garden in Manchester had to accomodate the flows around the garden - from the back door to patio doors to the gate. The house return had to be an integral part of the garden design and the garden design had to include somewhere to dine.
The garden design accomodates all these requirements while creating a tranquil space to relax after a long day. The very old wobbly wall was replaced with a new fence that unifies the boundaries and new borders where created to soften the space. Woodland plants where mixed with shrubs and grasses to create mixed borders full of colour and scent all year around. Oak sleepers where used to raise up the dining area. Contemporary black stone has been used to match the tiles in the new kitchen helping to bring the inside out into the garden. The views from the house have been carefully considered and planting strategically introduced to prolong the journey throughout the garden. This tiny space is full of interest and character - a small oasis in the middle of a busy city.
